Am considering not using a pram this time around for the new little baby. I like the look of the hugabub.
we used an ergo for DS2 from 7 months. I find the pram a bit cumbersome when out and about, hefting it in and out of the car.
ALSO - can anyone recommend a good rear facing capsule / car seat and a car! we need a new one.
We need a car that will fit three car seats.
We have two maxi riders for the boys at present.
Any suggestions?

I started using a hugabub with #2. It was fantastic but quite complicated initially to work out how to tie it up. I also found it a wee bit complicated getting in & out of it when I was doing my shopping (but maybe I was a big unco...lol). Wee Man rapidly got too heavy for me to carry, though (& don't think it would have been any different, regardless of what baby carrying device I was using). But I really liked it when I did use it & it was very comfy - could carry him for ages.
I insisted on a 4-wheel pram with a handle that can be moved so you can wheel the pram backwards or forwards. Not only are they easier to get in & out of the car (because you don't have that stupid 3rd wheel sticking up) but because they're multi-directional, you can adjust them so bubs doesn't face the sun. When baby is a bit older, I switch to an umbrella stroller (nice & easy to get in & out of the car). The 4 wheelers can be a bit difficult to come by, though. Babyco had a cheap one a couple of years ago that included flyscreen, removable carrybags, cover, etc. It's great.
I'd highly recommend the Safe n Sound carseats. They have ones that convert from rear facing to front facing. We have the Safe n Sound Royale.
As for cars...we're facing that problem too (2 car seats & a 12 year old...joy!). Hubby likes the Kluger. A 4WD people mover without looking too ugly. I don't recommend the Kia Carnivals...a friend of mine has one & it's been nothing but trouble...+ I think hubby knows someone with one who has similar problems with them. But they're cheap.

I love my reversible steelcraft pram. will definitely keep using that (for bub) however, am most likely to put new bub in my bubba moe sling and DD in stroller/trolley if she's not going to walk.
The only thing we need to buy is another carseat. DD is 17 months but only 9.5kgs so hard to know what to go for.
So technically, i don't think we have anything to buy for the new bub. Lucky we dont' need a new car like you guys!!!! I love my falcon wagon - I always think it has more room than those "little" 4wds. Certainly more room in the boot.

have a look at the forrester wagon.
I love them, and a tonne cheaper than a kluger.

We have a Kluger
We have to buy a new carseat too, but DS will be almost 2 so we will give the new bub his carseat and get him the next stage up.
I'm going to get a tandem pram. We had a baby bjorn carrier for DS and he hated it, we ended up selling it on eBay so I won't bother with another one.

Not sure about anything you posted , but I've heard the commodores are pretty good (size wize) for 3 seats across the back. We have a 7 seater Pajero at the moment so space is not the problem, but I'm so wanting to buy a commodore or something big enough that won't chew the fuel like the Pajero! I hate how much it uses, but DH thinks that as he drives a company supplied ute, it shouldn't matter as we don't pay for fuel for him  ... not when it can cost me $120 a week (depends on what I'm doing/where I'm going!).
A few of the mum's from the thread I am in when DS was born had the hugabub and swore by it, but I would still want a pram ... I am NOT going to rush into it this time - like I have all other times! Am thinking I might get something with a toddler seat as I would still want to put DS in the pram sometimes (especially when walking to school to pick up DD). Was thinking of the Valco Rebel as I LOVED it when pram shopping with my friend. Will keep an eye on the thread!
I think I will also need to buy a new car seat ... it's the one we had with DD (so it's 8 yrs old), but I'll check the manufacturer guidelines first as it's never been in a crash etc so may still be ok. I would buy a SafeNSound again with a retractable belt. Either way, we'll need at least 1 new seat as DS will still be in 1.

We must have the little person model...'aint no way we'd get 3 car seats along the back, short of taking to the doors with a sledgehammer (as much fun as that would be..!). Well...maybe we would...but not 3 of the seats Wee Man has (Safe n Sound). They'd have to be skinny. Booster seats, maybe...
I think car seats have a 10 year life span? There should be an expiry date stamped on the back.

Sorry to but in where I don't belong but I just thought I'd let you know that my bro had the same problem with carseats inthe back. He went with Toyota Targo and hasn't look back. he loves it.

Hi ladies
Yes I have to get another carseat too...DD will go into a maxirider and DC#2 will use the Safe and Sound Meridian..
I have a RAV4 and DH a landcruiser so we shouldnt have any problems fitting them in...however if its twins - well
I used the baby bjorn for DD until she was 1 so I think i will definately use that this time around as well....I still havent decided on prams yet - We have a single MB & a Maclaren Techno XT for DD however we will use the basinette option for a while and see how we go. We may need to buy a double pram
