Just looking for feedback on the nappy wrappers (ie Tommee Tippee etc) ... a couple of my friends have said they are a waste of money (and the refills are expensive) ... what do others do? -- would you recommend these and if not how do you dispose of the nappies - do you have a little bin in the actual baby room to dispose of the nappies?? I don't want to put them in the main bin in the kitchen, but want something to keep them separate and hopefully free of odour!!

Waste of money I reckon. There are plenty of other USEFUL items to spend your hard-earned bucks on :D

We have a little bin in Andrew room near the change table. Gets changed daily at the very least. It has a lid on it, which contains the smell pretty well, I reckon.

You can put essential oils or somethign in the bin to cover smell as well.

I just use nappysacks. Everytime we change a nappy I put out the back door and then at some point in the day they get taken around to the wheelie bin. This way they dont stink the place up:) . But we also have a bin in the bathroom and when Dd has a bath i put the nappy in there(wet one only). But i think those nappy wrappers are a waste. It is so easy to popthem in a bag yourself.:D

A complete waste of money.

Mine go straight in the nappy bucket :p

I was thinking about a nappy wrapper too... but I'm know thinking I might invest in a pedal bin and some of those scented garbage bags!

I was just about to ditch my Tommee Tippee Nappy Wrapper a month or so ago - I found the bags flimsy and the system useless for maintaining the smell.

That was until they just released a new bag system (which fits the existing bins). They now have up to 4 months of age bags (no solids, less stinky) and over 4 months heavy duty.

No smell, no nuthin !

I still empty it most days but if it goes a couple without being emptied, who'd know ? You can't smell a thing !

I've gone back to loving it again:D :D

I bought one with my eldest but found it a complete waste of money. With the second I just used nappy sacks and thats what I intend to use with number 3

Considering you arent allowed to put poo in them anyway cos itll go to the tip and thats illegal, you may as well have a bin in the toilet so when you flush the poo you can chuck the nappy straight in the bin.

As a couple of others suggested, essential oils should help with the smell, but I too, Like sopolisha, chuck mine straight in the nappy bucket!!

I use a nappy bucket with a lid. Keeps the smell in and is emptied regularly.

Im probably the only one on here that loves mine, one of the best things Ive ever brought, i couldn't live without it! been using it flat out for nearly 10 months, no problems with it at all.
All of my friends love theirs too.

i bought the Diaper nanny one from TOYS R US. Do not buy this one it is ****, and toys r us said "so what!".

It claims to contain smells, a wheelie bin was better!

I have the Safety First 'Neat' Diaper disposal bin and love it. Yes, the refills aren't cheap (about $15 but they last about a month) but it is so much more convenient than going to the bin every time. Friends of mine have other nappy bins and say they end up putting any nappies with poo on them into a nappy sac and straight to the bin as the smell seems to get through but I don't have that problem at all. It really suits me and I think it is well worth it. Good luck with your decision!!
