:wave:Hi
I am 2 1/2 months pregnant with my first baby and very nervouse and a little clueless.
I was just told that i need to book into a hospital asap for the birth and i have no idea where to start. :detective:
Has anyone had any experience at RPA or Canterbury hospital?
I would so appreciate any info or feed back on either.
Thanx for your time:flowerz:
I've used both, and would probably recommend Canterbury, given the choice between the two.
RPA, in my experience, were too invasive, in the sense that they were quite happy to intervene, and offered an epidural quite early on... I would have prefered a more pro-natural environment. Though saying that, they are probably the best equipped hospital, and have a great delivery ward.

hi there i gave birth at rpa in sept 06 and i couldnt fault them at all i was constantly in and out of hospital from 18 weeks due to kidney infections and pre-eclampsia and i loved the fact they had a seperate ward for mums to be away from maternity ward plus i found the staff extremely helpful while i was in hospital i wish i could go back there to deliver my next bub due oct but i moved to qld so bit of a drive now, i was induced and i had constant care from midwifes one even stayed back 3 hours after she finished to help deliver my daughter
i did shared care twice at canterbury and its all good there. at least visitors and support people can actually park there car there without much hassle. also its a little quieter with regards to appointments etc. I have heard rpa are extremely busy and booked out the moment. also i think you have to be in a certain postcode range to go to canterbury and they will ask for id. hope that helps.
