I was just wondering what people have for Sunday dinner. A traditional roast or something simple?

On Sundays my family and i normally have a roast dinner with meat and vegetables. Then dessert would be a apple pie and custard.. I am from a English family..

I often cook something on a Sunday that will make enough for a meal during the week as well so one dinner mid-week is covered (like a curry or casserole). Tonight I am making ricotta-stuffed pasta shells with a tomato and chicken sauce which is enough for 2 meals. Speaking of which I really should get off here and start making it. I love cooking on Sundays as my husband is around to entertain the kids (he is off at the shops with the toddler at the moment and the baby is sleeping) - great day to cook.

Sunday night is an easy dinner here. Usually eggs on toast or something like that.

We usually have whatever is left in our fridge to make a meal. Tonight we are having steamed fish with home made fries, veg soup and steamed veg.

Would love to do a roast with all the roasted veggies, but for only DH and DD and myself it seems so much meat to cook but the smell would be fantastic!

Cath your dinner sounds yummy!!! can you post the recipe?

We are usually lazy on Sundays and dont put much effort in tonight we had sausage sandwiches...

For those who cook for two, maybe you can use left over meat for lunches during the week? you can often buy small roasts too...I used to get the pork fillets and roast them with sweet chilli sauce and garlic glazed over it...yummy!!! Great for 2!!!!

:iagree: Yep, when I cook a roast it's only DH and DD who eat the meat so I buy those mini roasts and there's still enough left over for lunches the next day.

now our definition of sunday dinner is lunch (which i think half of you mean and half of you don't!!!)

for LUNCH we usually have a BBQ (altho when it's cold we quite often buy yummy kebabs from a turkish bakery down the road.)

for dinner (tea) i'll make something easy like fried rice, an omelette, baked potato.. something pretty slack.
