Look out for the Pink Balloons!
When: From 10.30am, June the 1st!
What To Bring: A blanket to sit on, sunscreen, a hat, your camera... OH and your child... also a gold coin donation for the Cancer Council's Biggest Morning Tea (http://vic.cancercouncilfundraising.org.au/personalPage.aspx?SID=24020)! (We can do some good while having a playdate and chatting with friends!)
Don't forget to bring some morning tea to nibble! It might be a good idea to arrange in your groups a share-a-plate, but due to the numbers coming we can't do a share-a-plate for all.

We can't make it the next 2 weekends, or the last one in June either - busy month with birthdays etc.

We were going to take the kids in to the science centre (South bank) after the park. Is that any good, or is there somewhere appropriate nearby? - Don't know Brisbane at all well I'm afraid.

We have things to do on the way in and out at Algester and Annerley, so if it's in totally the opposite direction, we'd be pulling out too, most likely.

Isn't there anywhere covered around there, a big pavillion or something in the park, or a shopping centre with a fantastic play area?

There are covered areas up the back of the park, but I don't think they will keep much of the weather out.
There is a playcenter I know of on Sandgate Rd. Not sure if there is one closer to the city though?

what about .. wet weather option .. meeting under the whales at the museum?? thats FREE .. its UNDERCOVER .. and more importantly its FREE :laughing: the museum cafe is there somewhere .. so there would have to be toilets .. and if families WANT to .. after the morning tea they could go to the museum (free) or the state library (free- can anyone see a theme here??) .. which has a great new kids corner .. etc etc??? I guess parking would cost???

That's a great idea! (But can I just say that the museum cafe is ridiculously overpriced and the coffee... (isn't that good).... plus they don't have highchairs.)

But the State Library is an EXCELLENT idea!! And they even have artist led children's activities for under 8's between 10:30-12:30!!!

How about we meet there if it's raining????? We can still bring our picnic lunches, as the quad connecting the library to the new Art Gallery is all undercover and would make a great place to have an undercover picnic. :yes::D

What To Bring: your camera... family members (DHs are welcome - although mine pleaded out) ... also a gold coin donation for the Cancer Council's Biggest Morning Tea! (We can do some good while having a playdate and chatting with friends!)
Don't forget to bring some morning tea to nibble! It might be a good idea to arrange in your groups a share-a-plate, but due to the numbers coming we can't do a share-a-plate for all.So ensure that you have enough for yourself!! (if not the cafe is only a few metres away :D)

Aiming for somewhere between 8:30 and 9:00 to leave. Aiming for 8:30, it will be more like 9:00 :yes:

I should make sure you know that we plan to go to the science centre afterwards - we're making a day of it. Then I have to make 2 minor detours to pick up some ebay things on the way home - shouldn't hold the trip up more than 5 mins.

You can come in with us, and you're welcome to come home again, but if you choose to go home with someone else, that's fine too. We're pretty flexible, and can even meet you at some bus or train station (within reason) if you want your car there for the homeward trip.

You'll be in the far back seat of the Nimbus though, and the 3 kids in front of you ... :raspberry:

I told Bethany that Gwen was upset that she had no balloons, and she said "her can have some my balloons!" Awwww, that's lovely honey.

Then she had to go and add "But I need some balloons too". At least she's offering to share.

If you want some, we're about 10 minutes away. You can swing by, or we could take a drive later (we don't have to get out, can just pop them out the window to you) - know you've got plans today.

Theres not many more in there then what I posted last night... If theres none of you or you're children yet, please don't worry! I'm getting through them, it just takes a while to go through them all and process them :).. I reduced the quality of the photos quite a bit, so they shouldn't be bad to load if people are on dialup.

Oh, and if people don't want photos of them or their children in there, please let me know asap, and I'll remove those particular photos :D

I know there's not much of O and J... gosh I didn't even see them most of the time!! Is lovely to see some of Gabby :yes: poor little guy usually misses out when it comes to photos at home... it's just so crazy!!
