hi im in northern area and its my boys 3rd bday in july (sh!ty weather usally) so im thinking something indoors/under verandah area type.
i dont really want to host a big party, by then ill be almost due with DS2. we dont have alot of friends with kids anyway.

all id love to do is a cake, i really love the idea of having farm animals come to my house for a hour or so, then have some cake, then thats it. or is that weird not to do the whole party bag, games thing with it?????

or whatother ideas, money isnt a issue. but not alot of kids or adults would be coming.

i dont like hungry jacks etc coz the play equitment is frickin gross! lol

so where have you taken your kids for a 3rd bday?
i would like to go to the zoo aswel, but again the weather is usaly not good.
please any ideas, iv never had his bday anywhere so i have no clue! iv been lucky enough in the past that there has been a concert on, or we take him to my parents for cake .

ok thanx!

Do you have a decent backyard at home with a verandah area? Maybe just look in the phone book or on the internet etc for one of the farm animals places to come out to your house like you say.... and make a nice cake. At 3 years old the kids won't care much about all the extra trimmings.

I had planned DD's 3rd birthday to be at Carisbrook Park.... was just going to be some party food and a cake and the kids play on the playground. Sadly in was in March right in the middle of the 3 weeks of 40 degrees that we had so we had to move indoors to McDonalds.

We went to Golden Grove where the playground is a little less gross, but I didn't go there by choice. Really would have preffered to be at the park.

Otherwise how do you feel about the indoor playgrounds? How far north are you? There is a new nice one on Clayson road at Salisbury East called Kidz Biz Play cafe. It's only $3 for 3 year olds to get in and free for under 18 months!

Basically 3 years old don't care much as long as there's kids to play with and cake to eat.... they'll be happy.

Good Luck with whatever you decide

thankyou for the reply, we have a large verandah area at home, the animal idea is great i think!

that kids biz play cafe, i live a 2min walk from it

i know of a family member already saying shes having her boys bday party there a couple months after my boys, so if i booked a party there too, wouldnt that be like stealing her idea?
she would take it as doing that...

but i agree im not going to bother doing the small games and things.

hmmm... maybe she would but personally i think that's a bit petty of her if she did  There are only so many things you can do with little children in the middle of winter. If I was in her shoes and you said you were having you DS's there before mine I personally wouldn't mind as I know my DD loves going there to play and doesn't care how often she gets to go... the more the better. But that's just my opinion :o

But if you like the idea of having the animals at home then you should go for it  Something different and the kids would love it! And yeah, don't stress about games and stuff..... but just from experience..... if you are even semi interested in the lolly bag idea.... I just went to supermarket and bought about 4 different types of homebrand soft jelly type lollys and put a couple of each in a 'lolly bag' i got from the same supermarket. I got 6 in bags in each packet for something like 79c. So it was very inexpensive and the kids really loved them. It was a bit of a highlight for them... but you don't have to do it if you aren't interested in that kind of thing.

Good Luck :D

it is petty but some people just are lol

but yeah the only thing iv found annoying is the weather on his bday:rolleyes: when he was born it was miserable and pouring for 4 days straight lol

so bday ideas have been slim. in summer i see other kiddys partys and water toys and stuff and its really good.

i will do a lolly bag, i forgot about that, it is cheap too!

i sill got some time to think about it all, wich is good ill ask some family what they think aswel.

thankyou for the response!
