Hello all my fellow pg friends :yelclap: (Feels nice to say that)

I hope I don't sound too ignorant but please keep in mind this is our first bub.....

Today I am 4 weeks 3 days, and this morning Dh and I bd... It was great mind you but I couldn't help but wonder is this safe at such an early stage of pregnancy? I did google it and the general consensis (sp?) is that yes it is fine. But I really felt like I shouldn't be....
Anyone willing to share their own experience or advice? Thanks in advance!

I've heard its only a problem if there is an increased rick of miscarriage.

Bd? Ok...I'm going to show my general lack of knowledge of internet abbreviations here but what does that stand for? I'm guessing something to do with "having relations" as my ob/gyn calls it :D

Sex is fine (& yes, I'm going to use the "S" word because, to be quite frank, if you're in this thread, then you've had sex!). As long as it isn't uncomfy for you or, as Kirsty said, you're at risk of miscarriage. Some ladies find pregnancy makes them want to "do the deed" much more frequently than normal. And, of course, later on, it can be quite creative trying to find a position that doesn't squash your belly (I found it a bit offputting, though, having my future offspring kicking my husband as he tried to put his moves on me...hahahaha).

Enjoy! ;)

I believe it's fine unless you have a history of many early miscarriages and then it can be best to wait til after 12 weeks.
DP tried to get me in the mood this morning but i felt too yukky and normally i'm straight in there!:crying:

hey there...
Im not sure what bd stands for either but assuming you mean sex I dont see why it isnt ok especially seeing as many women dont even know they are pregnant at 4 weeks...I didnt have any problems til third trimester except with nausea so sometimes was put off...just make sure you are comfortable.... good luck with your pregnancy!

Sorry , BD means (Baby Dance) yes it means sex, i picked that term up in the TTC (trying to concieve) threads.... Every thing seems to have an abbreviation around here!
And thank you for the well wishes :)

Yep BDing is perfectly safe & fine if you feel comfortable with it.

We won't be doing any of that stuff for at least the first 12 weeks because I have to use these progesterone pessaries up there twice a day to help prevent a miscarriage and lets just say they aren't too pleasant :barf:

I am a bit of a worry wart when it comes to BD'ing when pregnant. In the beginning I worry about damaging the cervix. And once the baby starts kicking, I just can't get my head around the fact that there's 3 of us in the bed. I would say that outloud to DH in the middle of things and, well let's just say it pretty much killed the mood

I was kind of lucky first time I guess, in that I didn't really know much, so there wasn't alot to stress about!

Ive had a history of early m/c's so im staying away from sex. I just figure its a good excuse LOL, and if they tell you not to do it if u have m/c before then obviously it increases your chances and I dont take any chances.

Some of my mates have Bd'd the whole time though with no problems.

I actually can't get enough of it. I was always up for it before, but now I'd be more than happy to have it 5 times a day. However, dp's 16 hour days do not make for a very receptive partner come bedtime on a school night.
