Perth meets

Hi all

Just a few thoughts about meet ups. Perth girls seem to do a pretty good job of organising events so bubhubbers can meet up - and it's a great idea.

It might be helpful, though, if we are a bit more careful about advertising the location etc of our meets. This is because bubhub forums can be viewed by anyone - including non members - and it is probably a wise safety precaution. As far as I know, there have been no problems at any meets, but it just might be something we want to consider.

Perhaps if we post a new thread for each meet saying something like "Picnic during the day on 10th February (for example). Sign up if you are interested" and then once the list of names is collected, arrange specifics like a venue and time by private message.

Bron that's very true we don't know who is reading these posts. I've organised something for the group I meet every week and because it is at my place I emailed or pm'd them my address for that particular reason. But I never gave it a second thought when organising a park trip or playcentre outing.

I'm glad you're on the ball Bron!! Especially since things have happened to other girls in BubHub. I read a post about some seedy old guys trying to take pics of the babies at their meet up in a park!! Surprised I didn't think of it when I was reading it!!:eek: Scary!!

Maybe if details of meets were kept a bit more private, you might get some of the more reclusive bubhubbers coming to join you, like your friendly local moderator :rolleyes: :D

That is a really, really good idea!

I guess we sometimes just have that 'it won't happen to us' kinda attitude. But you're right, we don't know who is lurking around reading our posts, and alot of us use pics of ourselves or our children in our avatars, etc....

So yeah, I think that'd be the best way to do it from now on!

Hey i think that that is a good idea.I haven't actually been too any meets yet mainly because i didn't know who i was meeting and also what if there was any weirdo's there (not that i'm suggesting u girls are weirdo's LOL u just never know:) )

Maybe not the best time to ask but is there any perth meets coming up?? LOL guess this isn't the time to ask!!!
