Toilet training questions

Hi Everyone

Just a few questions. At what age did you start toilet training? Did you use a potty or go straight to the big toilet? Finally what would be your biggest tip?

My partners mother put Nicholas on the toilet at around 7mnths, sometimes he lets you know when he wants to go by grunting but othertimes he wont. I guess its all a case of trial and learn

hi there,ive always trained my kids in the summer at the 2 yr mark.also when they go and hide to do it in their nappies u know they are ready.i tried my twins just recently and they found it more fun to put the potty on their heads or stand in it.and they were frightened of the big toilet.but they are now starting to hide and at odd times let me know by grabbing their nappy and telling me poo or wee wee.they will be 2 tomorrow but i'll wait until it warms up again.cos then i'll let them run around with no pants until they get the drift of what to do.good luck with it,and remember lots of praise or a star chart.

My oldest was 15 months when she was toilet trained and my youngest 18 months, It was summer which is usually easier and it was them who didn't want nappies on so just went with what they wanted. I put them straight on the toilet as I have heard that it is like toilet training twice (only heard). My 2 girls were really easy and I have heard that girls are easier than boys.

The biggest tip is to remain calm and not get flustered with the accidents, and lots ,lots, lots & lots of praise :) :) :)
