View Full Version : Self giving up bottle at 10 months??
DS is about 10.5 months old and for the last couple of weeks refuses the bottle. DS is breastfed and the bottle is EBM.
He has taken the bottle well since 1 week of age.
Nothing has changed with the bottle in anyway.
Is he getting rid of the bottle himself or another issue such as teething.
He will still take milk from me... ie breast feeding.

My bub is the same age and I'm weaning him at the moment. He too has been comfortable with a bottle for a long time (with babysitting etc) but now drinks very little from the bottle regardless of whether it is EBM or formula or a mix of both. I reckon he would latch on any time anywhere though, and I think that it is a comfort thing. I'm about to move to milk in his sippy cup (he's had water in it for a while now).
Out of curiosity, how many mls a day is your bub drinking? My bub eats like a horse but is way under the recommended mls.
unfortantly im not much help about the mls thingy, as he is breastfed except for when im at work, (usually only 4 hrs), or baby sitted.
He was comfortably drinking 180 mls, though i reckon he could have gone more, but with expressing its about all i could get out in one sitting.
I think im just going to get people to give him EBM or cows milk in a sippa cup during lunch or morning tea.
