hi i am not speaking from experience ... just what i have heard 'through the grapevine'!! Be careful with joining your kids up! I have heard that bettina are one of (if not the) most expensive ... and that they have 1000's of children on their books ... just ask enough questions so that you are comfortable with your choice!! Good luck to all you mums who are joining your bubs up to agencies ... i hope they get heaps of work :smiliedance: :smiliedance:

i know a few people who used to be with small fries and got work on tv shows but they left small fries for another agency coz they felt small fries was too young for them coz they were 16 when they joined their new one lol

So we have a interview with Bettina on monday and then Brats on Sat. the only thing is brats you have to have the $450 with you. the other hasnt said anything about money yet, and i dont have credit cards so if they want him they wont be getting money on the spot!!!

have you heard anything from small frys?

I spent quite a few years acting and therfor involved with agents agent fees. And I can tell you that BRATS are a rip off. If an agency can genuinely find your child work, they will usually let you either pay for photos or you can usually source your own, and you might pay a admin fee usually well under $100. $450 is outragious, even if they are getting work, because they also usually take 25%-30% of the job fee. I emailed them a short while ago, and they were interested, but when I said I couldn't and wouldn't pay $450, I recieved an abusive email, very unprofessional. So I wouldn't recommend to any one.

Yes, I tend to agree with Sara on this one - this is the email that I received from Brats....

Many thanks for submitting Eloise’s details & pictures. She is gorgeous and we’d love to meet you both in person.

Please call us on xxx to arrange an interview time, for the xxx at our office in South Melbourne, VIC.

In order to make a booking you will need to pay a $50 deposit by credit card over the phone or send a cheque or money order to our Head Office in Sydney: 122 Beattie Street Balmain, NSW 2041.

This deposit is totally refundable if we do not accept the child into the agency or if you cancel your appointment five (5) working days prior to the day of the interview. However, if you do not turn up for the interview or if you cancel your appointment after the above time given, your deposit will not be refunded.

Please make sure you ask all relevant questions before booking the appointment.

Be aware that an annual membership fee of 450+GST (to cover our expenses for marketing material) applies if the child is accepted into the agency. This fee is payable on the day of the interview and the deposit will be deducted of the total fee.

I don't see why I have to pay them $50 for nothing (even if it is refundable) and then an additional $445 (including GST) to be accepted. They then take 20% of your fees.... I think it's excessive.

Yes that's her, thank you (we've decided to keep her!! ;) ).... I only filled in the online form for Brats on a whim, so no, I haven't investigated any other agencies. I'd like her to do something, but I want them to pay HER not the other way around!!
