I don't know about teh thread, but heres my recipe anyway!
I cut my potatoe in chunks and boil for 5-10 mins first. Then I add to baking tray with cubed uncooked pumpkin.
Mix together cream (one bottle cream to one packet suop mix) and french onion soup mix, pour over potatoe and pumpkin, spinkle with grated cheese. Bake until pumpkin is soft.
Yum!

Hi Sarah - Mine is pretty simple but is always a hit. I used to always cube the potatoes but of late I have sliced them, (after peeling them).
When slicing them I put in a layer, then the cream mixture, then another layer, then the cream mixutre and so on.
The cream mixture is simply cream and crushed garlic. I tend to use one of the larger bottles of cream and between 1 - 2 cloves, (or teaspoons if using the jars of crushed garlic) of garlic mixed in.
In a seperate bowl mix some fresh breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, finely chopped fresh chives or flat leaf parsley (optional), and about a teaspoon of olive oil and put his mixture on top of the bake. Bake covered with alfoil for about 40mins and then take off alfoil and bake until cooked.

you should try what i cook! its called scalloped potato but its DELICIOUS
its so easy u just buy a McCormicks Scalloped potato packet and 4 potatos and a tub of cream and some milk
u cut the potatos but boil them first and then mix the packet and milk and cream togethor and when the potatos soft enough to stick a fork through u just put them in a caserole dish and pour the mixture on top and cook it in the oven at 200 for 40 mins
its ssooooo yummy

I do mine with layers of potato and onions then I pour cream mixed with some garlic all over. Then on top I put lots of diced bacon and cheese. Sometimes I use potato, onions, mushrooms or just what veggies needs to be used up in the fridge. We always have steak and salad with are potato bake.

I use a 300ml(I think, the small one anyway, not the taller one) bottle, but I guess it depends how big your bake is! I use a square pyrex dish full to hte brim.
