Unwanted or strange private messages

It is rare, but if you do receive unwanted, strange or harassing private messages at any time via the Bub Hub forum, please do forward these on to one of our moderators. (Moderators' names appear in pink in the 'who's online list' on the forum home page).

We are anxious to keep people who send unwanted, strange or harassing private messages off our forum - but we don't know about it unless you tell us. So please don't be shy - or intimidated by these people - forward any relevant messages to us and rest assured that we will take appropriate action.

We've had a few complaints about a member in Live Chat who PMs people asking dubious questions about toilet training and nappies.

Please DO NOT ADD this person to your msn chat. If they are on your msn list, block them.

If anyone has had any dodgy encounters with this person, please feel free to PM or email me.

Please be aware that there are some strange people out there, and that although Bub Hub is a privately owned forum, it can be viewed by anybody and everyone.

A member called Minaty was recently banned from our forum for sending unwanted pms to members. It seems that whilst he/she was a member of the site, he/she also took time to take note of email addresses that were visible in member profiles too and has sent some emails out - this is an example...

We suggest that you ignore these emails if you receive them.

We also recommend that you hide your email address. Members can contact you via PM and you can give your email out on an individual basis instead. Non-members cannot see email addresses in profiles at all.

To hide your email address from other members, go to User Control Panel > Edit Options > Messages & Notification. Make sure this option is unticked: Receive Email from Other Members


Please note that for new members, the email option is hidden by default.
