I have a friend who is 7 weeks pg I think and she is constantly dizzy and generally feeling really under the weather since she fell pg! She asked me for some suggestions on how to deal with this as it is really affecting her work (and the ppl at work don't actually know she is pg (well apart from me))!

I said to her that my understanding was that that type of thing is definately hormonal and is normal but for the life of me I can't think of what to suggest to her that may help.

And suggestions ladies??????????

Obviously going and laying down is not an option

Has she had her blood pressure checked?
Also is she eating enough? That might make her feel dizzy too

Good point Sarie I didn't think of that. The first thing I thought about with the dizzyness was iron! Blood pressure didn't cross my mind at all!:banghead:

Iron. I was EXACTLY the same. I was anaemic & needed to take iron tablets. Worked a treat. Tell her to see her doc & get her bloods done to check . It cant hurt to take iron tablets though.

Sounds like textbook low blood pressure.

Plenty of fluids and lots of rest.

I used to get dizzy at the start of my pregnancy too. My blood pressure was fine as were iron levels (these definitely need checking first because both can cause dizziness) but I needed to eat fairly constantly to keep my blood sugar levels okay. As mentioned above - is your friend eating enough and frequently? You have to eat more frequently than usual - some of us a lot more frequently! I am not talking constant meals but frequent snacks.

Another suggestion - if it is not any of these it possibly may be unrelated to pregnancy - an inner ear virus or something. I had one once that used to make me frequently light headed and dizzy ( my balance was affected).
