I made a deal with my husband before we were married that if I watched the AFL I didnt' have to watch any other sport.

Now I am a bonafide Brisbane Lions fan. But I don't have time now to watch many games - I usually just watch the first few minutes and the last quarter.

And besides, I see FAR too much 'other sport'.


I HATE rugby league with a passion. And just because I live close enough to the Cowboys homeground that no-one can park out the front of my house during a game doesn't mean that I CARE enough to know the fixtures. Our council thinks I must and though they enforce the parking restrictions, they don't have to give me any more than 2 days notice that there will be a game on. And only then on a sign.

The Cowboys are gods here. :hair:

Die hard rugby fan here.... actually just got home from training, so its not just one for the boys!

Rugby is such a community, not just a sport.... in my area rugby fellowships have very strong ties with big local business..... great networking tool!

Also prefer Union players socially. I find them to be more gentlemanly than AFL or League. In my experience.

i have to say i watch and go for both afl and nrl.
i was brought up in a west coast eagles household.then when i meet my dp 6 years ago he got me interested in rugby as he played up until last year.

i must admit though i still dont understand rubgy but i do try to learn it for him plus i went out and brought him a 25 year celebration of queenslands state of origin with a little jersey on it.was very hard to find over here in western australia but since it was our anniversary i went to perth and found one.

AFL is my preferred sport - I would watch all 8 games a week if it was possible. I love the athleticism and skill.

I also love Union - such a great, great game. Unfortunately, living in Melbourne means that we don't get to see much of it.

I won't give my opinion on NRL - it's not favourable. I can watch most sport but not that game.

I grew up an NRL girl, but sad to say my Mighty North Sydney Bears no longer exist...
Then I met my DH and we moved to Victoria, so now it's "Good old Collingwood forever".:D
My rugby allegiances lie with the wonderful Waratahs, who coincidentally have my all time hero as their defensive coach!! Les Kiss! :smiliedance: Hopefully to become the coach next season.:fingerscrossed:

My DH was a Cessnaockian and a mad keen Newcastle Knights supporter but since our 13yo DD started playing AFL a few years ago he doesnt even bother watching any NRL anymore he says it is as boring as watching paint dry.
