Can anyone tell me about the child health services on the gc? I mean, like physio, spech, etc? I am looking between say currumbin and southport? My doctor reckons I would have to travel to up near brisbane, but he's in nsw so not sure if he knows :confused:

i'm not sure exactly what your after, but there is a public speach pathologist in benowa, there is a waiting list to see them though, but its pretty quick to get the initial consult, i'm not sure about physo or anything else though, i'm still newish to the gold coast, and still finding out new things all the time

DS went to physio, speech, OT at southport and bundall and I'm pretty sure some of his therapists said they also work at palm beach or somewhere down that way.

Haven't been for a while and DH smashed our phone so I lost their number, but I'm sure you can find them in the white or yellow pages under child health - developmental assessment team (DAT) or something along those lines.

My daughter saw a Physio at the Developmental Assesmant team at Bundall. The Physio she saw was Sue Stanton-Cook, she was great.

She had to be referred to them by the Community Child Health (we went to Robina). There is a waiting list, they try and make the appointments in order of importance, or urgency.

Thought I'd boost this up to see if anyone else knows. i now know that if I do move it will be ti miami. And DS already goes to early intervention and speechy down here so would we go to the end of the waiting ists or would we get priority?
