Argh I need a vent

Ok we are getting married soon, very soon. My DF got me an unusual engagement ring so it looks like I have to get one made. I have been to 6 jewellers and I settled on one because she said they have a jeweller on premise and it can be made in 2 weeks.

So that was on Wednesday and she said she would have a picture on Saturday with a quote. I had to leave my ring AND a $100 deposit (as if my ring wasn't deposit enough)

So I got a message on my machine from them on Saturday so I called them back. The lady was busy - fair enough, but 1 1/2 hours went by with no return call, so I went in.

I got there and she said I have a quote for you but no picture :confused: As if I will give the go ahead on something I don't know what it will look like.

They haven't even drawn up a picture of anything, so it's all in there head:confused:How is it possible to give a quote on that???? And She lied to me, NO jeweller on premise and now it will take atleast 4 weeks.

So she said come in on Monday (today) after 11am, they will have a picture and my ring.

I get there, NO picture, NO ring, Not even the lady to deal with me :hair:.

The other lady called her and she wasn't comming in and was drawing the picture as she was speaking to her.

Now they tell me come in tomorrow and it will be there.

I am starting to get a bad feel for that place and the service is the worst I have ever had EVER!!!!!!

Oh I sorry, its so dissapointing when customer service lets you down.

I had trouble with my engagement ring, all the diamonds kept coming loose and they gave me the run around, I took DH in with me and as soon as he said what the problem was, they replaced the ring.

Maybe take DF with you?!

Good luck. you can always get a plain band and get one made later.... i know not the same. But if it gets too close to the date and no ring that might be your only option

I have to say, that I would be demanding to speak to the manager, and wanting my ring and deposit back and taking it else where.....

Do you mean a wedding ring made to suit your engagement ring??

I know it sounds a bit blah...but to be totally honest if you find somewhere else and it wont be ready in time, I wouldnt be using that place for anything....

And its a ring, and there are some cheap ones you can buy for $100 as a for now one...which is what you spent on the deposit....

I had to get my wedding ring made because my engagement ring has a marquis diamond in it.

Our biggest problem was that they wouldnt give us a price for our gold or an exact price for the ring and there was no way I was giving someone an open licence to make a ring when I didnt know how much it would cost me :confused:

Have you asked around for a good jeweller? It might be worth going to your nearest major city to get it made. I am really happy with both our wedding rings and really its worth spending the extra couple of dollars for the better quality ring. My MIL has worked in jewellery stores for over 30 years and she told us firmly to spend the extra $$ because she sees too many cheap rings worn thin and breaking over time

Thanks everyone, I have cooled down now. Unfortunately I am very limited with time to shop around, last case senario there is one ring that kinda goes at Sheils. If it doesn't work out I'll get that one.

:hair:How do I scream on here. Arg I'm so p****d off the jewellers.

My ring wasn't there like they said and ther drawing was crappy.

I vented at them and left crying:crying: They say it will be there tomorrow. I'm not getting it from there now AT ALL!!!!!!!

Oh hun - you poor thing. How about asking bubhubbers in your area if they know a good jeweller?
