View Full Version : Prince of Wales Private ?
:wave:Hi,
I was wondering if anybody can give me any recent feedback of your experiences of PRince of Wales private. My options are Prince of Wales Private or Royal North Shore Private, Prince of Wales private is closer to home, but have heard mixed reviews.
Any feedback greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If you want to have your baby healthily and with minimal harm to both of you, stay away from all of the hospitals you have mentioned.
Go to the Royal Hospital for Women in Randwick :)

Hi Silly1,
Congrats on your pregnancy!
Whilst I can't answer your question about Prince of Wales Private, I can say that North Shore Private was, in my experience, FANTASTIC!
However, I have had friends who have been through Prince of Wales Private and were really happy.
With respect to grapebubblegum I must say that I strongly disagree with her statement.

Hi there,
I just had my baby 10 days ago at POWP. Overall, I had a great experience there - perhaps partly because of a wonderful obstetrician which I think makes a difference. I thought my care was excellent, apart from some probs like different advice from different staff and some being nicer/ more helpful than others. But I think you get this everywhere so it didnt bother me much, in fact the differing advice was reassuring because it made me feel there is no one absolute right way, so whatever I was doing was fine.
The food was also good and my room was nice too. One of the best things was the nursery they have at night where they take bub so you can get a bit of sleep and then bring him back in when it is time for feeding etc. The only problem was when it came to discharging me I didnt want to go and ended up arguing with the nurse through my tears - but they were right and I have been fine at home. I also had 5 nights there so cant complain - more than I would have had at a public hospital.
I would go there again if I had another baby. I have friends who have also been happy with NSP.
Good luck and best wishes for your pregnancy and beyond.

Hi, I delivered my first baby at Prince of wales Private at Randwick and absolutely loved it. Can highly recommend going there. The entire experience was amazing. The midwives and nurses were all very nice and attentive, always checking on me and asking if I needed anything. Every morning they would walk by and yell out a cheery 'good morning'. The rooms are great, very spacious and your husband can stay overnight which is a massive plus. Some rooms have double beds, others have a sofa bed which is also comfortable (I slept on it one night). The food is great. Doesn't feel like you're in hospital. Sydney Children's Hospital is right next door which is an added bonus, my son was born premmie so we had a paediatrician assigned to us during our stay who popped over 4 times a day to check on us and monitor my son.
