Oops I just put this under someone else's thread (that's how new I am to all of this).

Hi everyone!

I'm a 27year old stay-at-home mum of 2 boys - Kai (7) and Josh (9 months).

I joined just the other day but I'm already addicted!

We have moved around alot since Kai was born - we've lived in 8 different houses in fact. Everywhere from Alice Springs to Brisbane to Albury to the east coast of NSW.

We're currently living in Emerald Beach, which is 15km up the Pacific Highway from Coffs Harbour. My family is a 2 hour drive away.

I'm pretty used to coping on my own (due to all our moves) but DH works in a town 3/4 hour drive away and takes our only car for work every day. It's not like I can just walk into town from here!

I've struggled with the isolation of it all and it was getting me down.

However, I've got to say that being able to read everyone's stories and share my own (and have people actually interested in it) makes me feel much less alone and has made a huge difference!!

So I just wanted to say - thanks everyone! :D

Hi Melanie,
There are just so many great people here that make you feel like you have millions of friends.
If you want to be one of my email buddies then feel free to drop me a line at angcal1@yahoo.com.au
I get stuck at home almost all the time because we only have 1 car and the hubby takes it to work, so I know how you feel.
Hope to chat to you soon.
Keep your chin up.

:D

hi melanie, nice to meet you and welcome to bubhub. i know how isolating being a sahm with little ones can be, but at least i can walk to shops etc (although sometimes the effort it takes to get out the door makes me just stay in!) so i imagine it must get you down sometimes to not just be able to pop down the street. thank goodness for the internet and sites like this! im always happy to have a chat when your feeling lonely! look forward to getting to know you better soon :)

hello and welcome!

its a shame we aren't a little closer, I'm in very similar situation, further south down the coast, bout 45km south of Forster. Hubby takes our only car for work in town and apart from a bus once a week into town I am at home with my 3month old gorgeous baby Jack. I find if I get out down the beach for an hour or so, it saves my sanity!! :D Always happy to chat and enjoy reading bubhub.
