Hi gals,

I had my implant removed on the 16th April this year, and also had AF from the 11th-18th April.

My AF was quite regular towards the end of having my Implant, so i'm hoping they'll still be that way now.

My question is, how many of you were quite fertile after having it removed?

I know it's probably quite a big expectation to fall pregnant this soon after having mine removed, but hey, i've heard it can happen.

I'd love to hear any stories of anyone that has had the implant, pregnant soon after, or not so soon after the removal.

I'm expecting AF tomorrow, but would be over them moon if i didn't get them!!

Hi I think it is all really individual unfortunately, which isn't a lot of help I know. I had Implanon removed after 2 years to conceive #2 and that took me 9 months. I also had Implanon removed after 2.5 years and am now TTC #3.
Officially you are meant to be fertile as soon as the implant is removed. My Doc told me she had a lady who had the old implant removed one day and then came back the very next day to have the new one put in and got pregnant. If it were so easy hey!
Good luck with TTC. You are welcome to come and join us in the TTC threads.

Hi :)

I posted a similar thread to yours entitled "Conceiving after Implanon" but I take it you've not read it so I thought i'd post a reply here.

I'm in the same position as you as I also got my Implanon out on the 16th of April this year, I was curios to know about other women's experiences of coming off it too but I think it is really dependant upon the person, one woman told me she conceived straight away after coming off it however it seems to take a while for others. I'm still awaiting AF, she was due four days ago but I'm trying not to get too hopeful as I think it can take a while after coming off of the implanon for AF to get back to normal. I have had loads of early symptoms but keep telling myself it's all in my head  'cause I got a BFN:bfn: 11dpo.

I hope you're one of the lucky ones who get pregnant straight away!

Let me know what's happening.

I had it out in Nov 06 had first AF in Dec 4 weeks later, second AF in Jan and then conceived that month had DD2 in Oct 07.

My GP at the time told me in her patients seemed to take an average of 3 AFs.

Oh and MollyMandy I have NEVER got an early BFP with all three of my pregnancies.

Hi
I had implanon removed in Jan 08 and it took 52 days to get AF!!!! I have since gotten into a nice regular 36 day cycle but still no BFP .
The last time I had it taken out in 2003nI had AF 4 days later and concieved next month so I am not sure what the difference is this time. I had NO AF at all throughout the time I had the implanon so maybe that is a factor? All I know is that the Implanon is fantastic whilst it is in, but it takes a while to return to normal the longer you have it in. The last time was 4.5 years....... I am hoping for :bfp: on June 4th so :fingerscrossed: for me and for all of you
