Hi
My name is Meagan, I have an 18 month old daughter named Georgia who is just wonderful.
I am a corporate working mum. I work full time (in four days per week) and find it really difficult to relate to other mums in my area as I have a career. I went back to work when Georgia was 2 months old and she is in a great day care centre for 3 days. She comes to work with me on a monday as I do have a very flexible employer.
Wondering if anyone knows about a playgroup or mothers group that is specifically for corporate working mums or dads.
Love to hear from any mums or dads in a similiar situation!
Cheers
Meagan

Meagan,
Congratulations on having managed to juggle everything! It's not easy. I'm still holding out at 3 full time days per week. I went back to 3 days when Chloe was around 4 months and she's now 18 months. I wouldn't call it a career anymore though, just a job. Although my boss is open minded it's become apparent that my reduced hours and inability to travel at short notice have effectively stalled me. I've also started back to school part time. Pretty silly really!
Like you I have a hard time relating to other mums and pretty much gave up on mothers groups or play groups here in Perth. I'm sure there's some out there which would be good, but I really can't be bothered to make the time to find one now. We do our own thing by going to Gymbaroo classes and will start swimming soon too.
Good luck in finding some contacts in Melbourne to meet up with!

Hi Meagan,
I am in the process of negotiating part-time work to commence at the end of July after having maternity leave, not sure what days yet. I have just moved to Vermont South and have two little girls so if you want to chat on your day off I am generally around. I still have to try and get child care which I am not looking forward to trying to source especially when my employer has not given me the days I will be working yet.

Hi Katrina
Thanks that would be lovely.
Try Platapus Junction, oposite Vermont Footbal club.
Georgia goes there and it is very, very good.
They generally cater for casual too, if you call and book early enough.
Where did you move from?
Are you enjoying the area?
Hi Martha
Thanks for your encouragement, Life is tough sometimes and it is nice to know others do feel the same way!
Cheers

Hey Meagan,
Yeah i know what it is like to work full time and juggle your social, work, private and motherhood life around. It is tough.........................I work Mon-Fri from 9-5:30 and it breaks my heart dropping Ajay to daycare but he loves it now.
Don't really get much time to meet up with other mothers very often. Sat & Sun flies like a rocket......................Well you are from mitcham................maybe we could organise sometime to meet up talk about work........................or anything and everything.....................post me or e-mail me ashika_c82@hotmail.com

Hi Meagan,
I find out in the next few days what days I will be working, does your childcare centre take under 1 as well? We were renting in Camberwell for 6 months when we moved from Brisbane but have brought here and renovating now! Hard work with little ones :) So far we are really enjoying the area, just got back from my sisters wedding in Darwin and must say I have acclimatized to cooler weather rather well! Have attached my email if you want to chat about anything.
