I found dd sleeping on her stomach thismorning, she has only ever slept on her back, and when she started rolling around everywhere I started using a safe t sleep positioner. I have been putting it on her looser and looser lately though cause I dont want to use it anymore, so now she is able to roll on her stomach and likes to sleep that way (not surprising- I love sleeping on my stomach )

i was told that it was ok when the baby could lift and turn their heads on their own.

on saying that my dd was sleeping on her tummy pretty much from day 1 as that was the only way she would settle.

My DD started sleeping on her tummy at about 4 months - once she could roll easily from back to tummy there was no way I could keep her on her back!!
We've never had any probs :)

Us too! We tried turning him over in his sleep, but he would just roll over again.

My DD use to hate tummy time before she could crawl, and as soon as she started crawling at 11 months she has taken to sleeping on her tummy in her cot 80% of the time.

If she enjoys it, and is sleeping nicely - I would just let her do it!

By 10 months, your baby is definately strong enough to lift her head. The concern is with very young babies, that suffocation could occur, as they don't have the strengh in their necks to turn their little heads when they're on their tummies.

My DD is 11 months, and has been sleeping on her tummy since about 6 months...

Nothing to worry about :)
