I've made my own with the scraps from my nappy making.

I use a PUL back and two layers of bamboo fleece. Cut a circle at least 10cm diameter and overlock around the edge.

I leak quite substantially during letdown from one breast in particular and the bamboo is absorbent enough for me to only have to change the breastpad every 12 hours. It doesn't have a 'wet' feeling either, so I think the extra layer of fleece or suedecloth would be superflous.

I was going to make my own but with a silk lining because I heard it's good for keeping away infections and stuff.

So mine would go silk next to skin, then bamboo, then some micro fleece. I was thinking PUL but the softer fleece would feel nicer. :)

I did some with a microfleece backing but it just made them that much thicker that I don't like them as much.

The bamboo is antibacterial too.

Do they not make crinkly noises?

The coloured PUL from bubba earth I have is quite soft and flexible.
