View Full Version : Toy Storage
I'm staring into Nugget's room, looking at the toys that are scattered in there and thinking "What the hell am I going to do with them" they're not babies toys, but rather stuffed toys that I've collected (Chris may say hoarded) throughout the years. There's ones from when I was a wee babe, and once that were won in skill tester machines not 2 years ago.
I want to keep them in Nugget's room, somewhere, but I'm strapped for cash, I don't want to buy some huge $1000 wooden box, and I certainly don't want to be a paranoid mummy about her little fingers being stuck in the box. But I do want it to look nice.. or at least organised hehe.
Any tips?

I like the toy hammocks you can get they hold quite a few stuffed toys too!
I like the toy hammocks too.... but where can you get them from?
Mandy - I admit, shamefully, that as well as the gazillions of toys in the baby's room.. I also have my bigger and favoured ones on top of the wardrobe in my room :p

I'm waiting for the Ikea shop to open here in SA, because I've seen in the catelogue they have these hanging things, looks like a dragon, but has big pocket thingo's down it. Hangs on the wall, and anything can go in there. Hang on, see if I can find a link/pic....

I'm thinking of getting one of those for Vallerie; either that or 3 of these:

And the prices are so good!
At the moment we have a big 80L plastic box thingo ($15 from GoLo) for her "hard toys" and a wheely "cot" thingo (not really a cot, it has fabric sides but no lid) for her "soft toys". But I find it just takes up too much room (we have small bedrooms) so the hanging-on-the-wall feature really appeals to me.

I have one of those hangy things - great for small stuff. For the bigger stuff I use the big clear plastic boxes and I have a small one about 5lt for bits an peices stuff. I fill it and bub empty's it - great game during the day, but at bed time I can pack all the everyday play toys in it for a fresh start the next day. I have spcecial cuddly toys on a shelf above the change table, they kind of decorate the room.

Plastic tubs are great and kids love pulling everything out of them. You can get them at places like Go-Lo and The Reject Shop from about $10 I think.
I picked up a couple of really good large round tubs yesterday at bunnings, they were $5 each!! what a bargain. They had green, red and black. They didn't have lids though.
Wattle... are they big buckets? with rope handles?
that's my doggies' water dish LOL
However, that is a great idea. :D
woof woof...... you must have a huge doggie. Yep, rope handles, sounds like the same ones but they're pretty big. :D
yeah, 2 big dogs, 40L water? :P

What about shelves so you could display them all? You can get the ones from the cheap shops, and they are so easy to put up yourself. Depends on whether you're renting too i spose.....
I tied ribbon around the necks of all jazzys teddys and hung them from a hook on the wall. Sounds a bit morbid but it looks really cool. I just didnt want to hide them away as most of them are gifts. makes her room look pretty anyway:)
