Hi everyone,

Looking for some help here, as so many of my usual lunches are off limits now (pre-prepared salads, deli meats), plus I'm ravenous when I get home for lunch but feeling slightly sick at the thought of eating (anything but hot chips, that is :()

I love a hot lunch, that can be ready in 10-20 mins. Most of my usual favourites are cheesy, and I've gone right off cheese too...sigh.

Help please?? I would like to be eating something nutritionally sound!

Bec.

What about soups? So many delicious ones available now in the fresh packs.. so you just tip them into a bowl and heat in the microwave. Serve it with a crusty roll.

Pastas - really simple sauces that you can stomach when not feeling the best... Olive oil, garlic and fresh herbs; simple tomato and onion etc

Tortillas with savoury mince and salad veges - you could do a bulk batch of the mince and put in smaller containers to be reheated

Soup.....Yum :yes:

I wish someone would come and cook gourmet lunch for me, I will be having toast and vegimite!

But onthe topic, Toasted sandwiches are good, lots of cheese and vegies.

I second the Soup!

Salad roll, although it may be a little boring with no meat in it?

Thanks guys - I'm just hard to please ATM.:D

I actually have loads of soup in the freezer, great idea!

Also I like the felafel idea, I've got a packet of mix lurking in my pantry waiting to be called upon.

Go the hot chips:devil::laughing:

One of my favs was a quick mexican mince with kidney beans and pitta bread. You can have it by itself or with tomato avacado etc.Make it in bulk and get a few days out of it.Also mushrooms on toast .I also make an awsome pumpkin and red lentil soup in the slow cooker.Lasts around a week. You know were to find me if you want the ingredients.

the good old baked beans on toast or on those rice cakes are very nutritious and healthy, nachos using pita bread (check my thread), if you like your salads why dont you cut everything up to last a few days and then you can put it together quickly for lunch, i also freeze leftovers and then reheat them, why dont you get a chicken breast and poach it in the microwave whilst getting everything else ready it doesnt take long only 3-5 minutes and then you can have chicken on your salad or on a open sandwich, a jacket potato you can cook it in the morning or the nigth before and just reheat it and put baked beans, avocado, chicken, tuna, sour cream, nachos/ kidney beans on it.................stews are also good make a big batch and freeze into lunchtime servings and get it out in the morning and reheat it at lunch ........

the thing you have to look at for lunch is if you are very hungry then you have to make sure you have protein on your sandwich or in your soup so it fills you up or you wil be hungry 30 minutes later...............
