MJ is almost 11months old, fully bf, and has 3 solid meals a day.....usually. Lately due to teething I have trouble getting a couple of spoonfulls in her mouth at meal times. I've tried finger foods, yoghurt, her feeding herself etc & nothing works.
I guess i just need people to reassure me that she's fine just having bm at this age :o
It is fine, right?

You're doing a great job. :hugs:
Is she having enough wet nappies each day, is she generally well in herself (apart from the teething of course), and is she having a decent amount of BM each day? When the teething is finished, maybe she'll make up for it then, and eat you out of house and home!! Breast Milk is liquid gold, so it has got plenty of good stuff in there for her. I didn't get to feed Vallerie as long as that, but I've been told that sometimes if a bub is sick/teething, they go off their food and breastmilk is all they will have - and that's fine. I've heard of other people delaying solids completely until bub is 12 months old, due to allergy problems.
You know what you're doing, but here's some more reassurance :hugs: :hugs: You're doing a FANTASTIC job.

Hi,
Some women choose to exclusivly breastfeed to 12 months because of allergies. And the kids seem very well nurished.
I was always thankful for breastmilk on the days my boys wouldnt eat or drink anything else. When my youngest gave up at 15mnths I was heart broken because I now had to make sure he was eating ect as he wouldnt have Breastmilk to fall back on.
Some advise on the solids though if you make a big deal and get stressed about them not eating, I feel they pick up on it and pull back even more from eating. I found just putting out a variety of foods at meal times and letting them eat or not worked in the end. Some days at that age DS2 only had a banana and some weetbix besides his Breastmilk.
Just relax and go with the flow.
Don't worry, my son's interest in solid food fluctuates all the time and I still bf him at 12 months. He's been a bit sick so he is only eating a couple of spoonfuls at each meal before he starts grabbing the spoon and flinging food everywhere:thumbsdown:. He has some days when he wants more milk then anything else. I wouldn't worry at all as long as she is bright and happy!

Try not to stress i know its horrible though !
Boof often only has one meal a day due to refusing anything near his mouth from teething.
Today for instance he has had 3 bottles ( about to have his bedtime one so make that 4 ) nothing for breakfast i wore it instead ! Lunch we had a few mouthfuls of chicken pasta & vegies & a mouthful of custard. We had a biccie for afternoon tea & dinner was a few mouthfuls of pumpkin rissotto & some fruit.
Yet that sounds so much better than last week when one day all he had was a mouthful of custard one day & a tub of yoghurt the next.
The other thing i find is that he prefers his food pureed when teething as he can just swallow & not worry about chewing so i try to accomodate it when we can.
Dont worry MJ wont let herself starve no bubba does she will certainly let you know when she is hungry again.

As long as she has the booby she will be okay. She is is still only pretty little. Mine always stopped eating when their teeth came through. Now I can't stop them eating.

My DS is the same. He's just gone 12 months and he loves his boobie. His interest in solids fluctuates, but somedays he hardly eats any solids. I try a wide variety of finger food and spoon fed, but it doesn't make any difference. He seems to be very healthy and doing ok.
MJ will be fine - she'll be back to eating solids before you know it!

What goosie said.
I agree that they can pick up on your frustration and it only makes things worse. My DD only started having a decent amount of food at about 13 months i think, and is now hardly eating again due to being sick
Don't worry - she'll be fine ;) :)
