hi there just want some info,
im 36 weeks preg and baby only weighs 1.9kg
docs are concerened but are trying to buy two weeks what are the risks if i deliver now?
scans have been knowen to be wrong, are you measuring behind? if your not anymore behind 2wks then chances are bubs is a good weight
as for risks of delivering now, well 90% of the time bubs will be absolutly fine, and will probably go home after a week, sometimes less, it all depends on how big bubs is, lung development etc etc

Not to make light of it, but when I was 36 weeks they told me that if I make it to term, the baby would be under 5lb yet she was born the next day at 7lb 8oz. They didn't say what the baby was at 36 weeks, just that at that growth weight in 4 weeks she would be less than 5lb

I was told my DD was only weighing in at 2 pound 9 ounces (1152 grams) at 33 weeks by ultrasound and she was born the next day at 2 pounds 8 ounces.so,sometimes the ultrasounds are accurate but dont let that stress you out.Your bubs is already outweighing mine by almost a kg and my daughter was fine.had a few issues in the 1st few days,a little respitory distress, jaundice and high blood sugar etc but that was all related to other issues (pre eclampsia and GD) not her size.so id say if your baby is born and is fairly small.He/she may be in hospy for a few weeks max just to gain some chub and make sure he/she is feeding well and then will get to come home.
May even be sooner,my DD was 2.2kg when she came home and she could have come home sooner but wasnt sucking as good as we wanted yet. and your babies already not far off that weight so Id just keep my fingers crossed if I were you and see what the Dr's decide is the best thing to do.Your little ones lungs should be developed and ready now so thats a bonus for you too.
good luck and if you need to talk just PM me.I know how stressful it can be.
I was told at the time of my attempted (and failed) induction with my dd that she would be very small and probably need help. She was born 5 days later (37wks) by c/section weighing 8lb 7oz.
Some bubs as just going to be small - the only way to tell accurately how big they are is to weigh them after birth!
Some of the tiniest bubs have been born and had no problems whatsoever.
My ds was born at 36 weeks weighing 13lb 2oz and had a 26 hour stay in the neonatal unit. My DD2 was born at 39 weeks weighing 9lb 8oz and after 4 open heart surgeries and never leaving the PICU she died at 9 days old.
Every baby will be different and even though your bub may be small, you may find that you and bub sail through this introduction to our big wide world with very few complications if any.
Please let us know how you are doing and what the docs are saying ... we want to be here for you.
Know that we care :hugs:

Experts say that the last four weeks are where they stack the weight on, I think I read about half a pound a week sometimes. Both my kids were 2 weeks early and both were 2760g. Both kids were small but strong, with an Apgars of 9 and 10.
U/s, especially in the later stages, can be wrong. Even if the weight is right, you still hopefully have 4-6 weeks of growth before the birth.
