Hello to all the spouses and spousettes of ADF employees (or are they victims?)

I have FINALLY come across a website of DCO's advertising events and functions that are held in honour of those who sit at home waving their white handkerchief's; in anticipation for their partners to come home!

I am off on a shopping trip to DFO's at Williamstown in a fortnight, and after that - who knows! Maybe Devonshire tea and brunch with the 'ladies' LOL. Here is the website for DCO (http://www.dfa.org.au/local.php?region=7). I hope to meet up with any VIC chickadees very soon!

Legend:
ADF - Australian Defence Force
DCO - Defence Community Organisation
DFO - Direct Factory Outlet (the best kinda shopping there is!)

Thanks for that Ally. I found some useful info there, but I do just want to clarify that this website is for DFA (defence families of Australia) which is basically run by volunteer workers who are defence spouses, not DCO which are people who are employed to look like they are doing heaps to help us, but in actual fact do nothing (can you tell Im not too pleased with DCO at the moment).

I couldn't find the info on the shopping trip though. Anyway happy shopping and roflmao at your white hanky and devonshire tea comments.

Whoops! Judge, please allow me to strike my previous comment from the record and have the record showing that Ally is also unimpressed by DCO!

lol it is a really old thread lol.
THere is a website for DCO events.

http://www.defence.gov.au/DCO/communityevents.htm#8

I was checking it out the other day cos we have a "music on the green'" event here in WA and I thought I could direct others to the info but hey .. there's nothing there so I emailed the website dude and he said it's up to the individual (in this case DCO) to provide info of upcoming events.

SO how f'd is that if DCO Rockingham don't even advertise their own event on the national DCO website.

DFA is a good site and if anyone has any info they could provide about their locality, don't hesitate to send it in. It's for us families .. any photos too .. I've sent a bunch in for our WA section and my kids are on it :).

Darn wish we had a DFO here :p

Thanks heaps :yelclap:

OMG that is terrible you would think that they would want as many family's as they can get to their events

I just remembered, the reason why is because there are other bases in WA and it might be confusing people. This one is for Navy families ...yet the other two bases (Army & RAAF) are more than 1hr drive
