Im guessing Sarah who is one is comfort feeding at night because lately shes had a sniffly nose and sounds like she has a bit of a sore throat from her cough. Her feeds have increased heaps and Im hoping its just due to this bug? Im a bit frustrated as shes still having 2 feeds a night but dont want to CC her till this cold is over. Im kind of ok with 2 feeds a night but have always wished she would sleep through or have only one top up. We used to dream feed her at 10pm but she wakes sometimes just before this and wouldnt settle unless Id give her that feed.

Is everyone thinking I should just demand feed her for now while shes sick? Thats what Im thinking. The booby juice must be doing her some good too..thats my guess

Poor buuba. :( It isn't at all nice when they are ill.

I think you are doing exactly what you need to do already. You know it's tough to respond to extra night time feeds (I've definitely been there!) but you also know the importance of nurturing your baby through her illness. And your breastmilk is about the best medicine she can get right now!

She will drop those feeds eventually-as hard as it can be to see that happening sometimes, it will happen. My DS#2 finally dropped that midnight/1am feed at 14 months and now I look back and am so pleased I allowed him to choose when to do this. :goodvibes:

All the best to you and your bubba.

Thanks Funkychicken!
Guess what I just discovered a molar too! her 9th tooth! About time its taken a whole month to arrive and when theres one theres always another. If its not one thing its always something else. Its always the way isnt it, whenever I place a thread on whats going on with my girl a tooth errupts . She still has the cold though and I think DH brought it home from work! I dont mind giving her the extra feeds Im sure its all good for her. As for the night time waking...I just have to persevere I guess. Cheaper to feed her breastmilk via booby than it is to bottle feed her!
Thanks for the reassurance :)

Funky chicken got it in one! My ds does this too when he is sick, and i had him down to one feed a day! I believe it definately lessens the symptoms/length of the cold/illness and they dont take long to go back to their normal feeding pattern. I agree its the best medicine.
