my DS has always been a bad sleeper but he is getting worse and worse. He is waking at around 4.45am and not going back to sleep. There are many problems with this.
1) DS1 wakes up if DS2 is left to cry for too long
2) DS2 always wakes up crying, never gurgling or happy, even during the day and even if he has a 12 hour sleep
3) 4.45am is really early!

We usually take him into our bed and he lays quietly until 6ish then I get up around 6.15 and get ready to take him for a walk in the pram. However for the last week he has been atrocious in our bed. This morning he screamed inconsolably for about half an hour and we couldn't get him to stop crying. Tried singing, cuddling, dummy, water etc. He would not have a bar of anything. DH had to leave the room as he couldn't stand it any more, and slept on the lounge. DS fell asleep I think around 5.45 and slept for an hour. He woke up happy, and I don't know if it was because it was lighter, or because he didn't wake up alone. Anyway, we can't co-sleep as DH snores and wakes DS up. Does anyone have any ideas at all?

We thought about trying a night light. He has a teddy in his cot that he has had since birth but I can't seem to get him to 'bond' with it. I know the helplines are going to tell me to control cry. I don't have a problem with this as we did it at night time and it only took 2 nights to get him to sleep throught he night. However I have tried it in the morning and given up after doing it for 45mins, as DS1 woke up.

He also wakes in the evening but just needs a drink of water and goes straight back to sleep. He sometimes wakes a few times but is always settled by around 10.30pm.

I am just so tired. I get insomnia and the stress is making that worse, so the whole situation is getting out of hand. Plus he is teething badly at the moment, he is way overdue for teeth and I think they're all coming at once. I just don't know what to do. Before last week he was waking aroun 5.30am regularly, and I could handle that, but 4.45am is just too early.

Anyway, feels good to write all this down, hope someone has some tips. Thanks.

:wave:Hi,

Just saw that no one had replied to your thread yet.

Sorry, I don't have any special advice to give. Even though you think you know what the help lines will say already...I think you should call Ngala - you have nothing to lose, right? They may be able to give you some other suggestions to try other than CC.

(My DS is Adam too!!!:))

Hope you are getting some sleep soon:fingerscrossed:
