Does anyone in melbourne know where i can find size 16 wedding dresses that dont cost the earth? I am getting married in 2.5months and cant even decide what would be slimming or suit me and all the dresses on ebay or trading post are 8-12 sizes!!!

I was around a size 14 when I started looking for dresses and didn't see only small size dresses especially as apparently the normal dress size guidelines dont apply to wedding dresses.... Your deadline might make it tough though... how much are you willing to spend? :detective:

Hi there, I'm not sure where you are located in Melb, but there is a place called Lizah's Bridal Fabrics in Mordialloc (bayside) that do great pre-loved gowns. They have a really good range and the prices are reasonable too. Their number should be in yellow pages. I had my veil made there for my wedding and it was about 40% of the cost of a retail bridal store. Hope that helps and enjoy your dress shopping :) :)

I just sold my Aunties size 16 wedding dress on ebay about a month ago. Went for $20. Absolute steal!

I was a size 16 when I got married and I brought my dress from a formal wear shop. (can't remember the name)
It was the exact same dress I tried on in a bridal shop only it didn't have a train and it was only $150! (in the bridal shops they were selling for over $1000)
It was absolutely beautiful and everything I wanted.
I always recommend looking in formal wear shops and even some of those unlikely shops like Noni b or Rockmans have beautiful dresses you just have to hunt around a bit.
Good luck
