I do not have access very often to a computer but felt I would join up, as a client told me there was a birth I attended being discussed on here.I am the doula that was with the mother that birthed on her way to hospital in the backseat of her car.To clarify the situation, she called me at 1.30pm to say light cnts every 15 mins.I let her know I was just 10 mins away so to call as soon as needed.Forty mins later she called me to come and I arrived at 2.20pm.She was in good labour but still smiling and chatting and we waited for her man to arrive home as he was on the bus.We departed for the 40 min trip to the hospital at 2.45 as soon as he arrived and baby was birthed into his hands after we pulled over at 3.00pm.Yes her and I would have made the hospital if she chose to leave without her man.She chose not to and both of them are thrilled about him catching their little one.Sometimes babes come whether you are ready or not.It is always the womans choice as to when to go to the hospital, but as a doula of over 130 births I do inform that to go to hospital at only 2 cms you will be pressured into intervention if you do not dilate at their requirements. Thanks for the opputunity to clarify and I look fwd to sharing with you all even tho it is only now and then I am on line.
