I am taking my 2 boys to melbourne for a few nights. Taxi's arnt really an option for us as they will cost too much so I will be relying on trams mostly I geuss. However I am worried that its going to be too hard to get the pram (A phil and teds double) and 2 little kids on the tram safely. I am also 5 months pregnant and worry it will be too much strain on me. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice? My oldest boy is 4 and I could get away with taking a stroller, but we will be doing a fair bit of walking and figured the double pram might be a btter option?:(
Thanks for reading

Maybe if you get your older boy a little skateboard that attaches to the bottom of the stroller that way if he is to get tired legs he can sit there, or if you have a carrier put your youngest one in a carrier on your back

Thanks, I have thought about taking the backpack carrier. I think it may be too much to carry though as our backpack will be on my back at the airport and i would probably struggle to carry the carrier also.

I know most places like the zoo and shopping centres have hire prams and hire carts ad stuff so if your 4yr old can walk until there and then u can fold up the stroller and put them in the hire ones
I know that trains and trams are very much pram friendly these days they have lower and wider sections for prams, wheelchairs. and the pregnant and elderly so i think you will be just fine with your twin pram

Thank you so much, thats reassuring as to whatever I decide :hugs:
I geuss I will just have to make up my mind what to take. I would rather get away with the stroller if possible as it would be sooo much easier just having a small stroller but then I have to worry about a 4 yr old in toe
Big pram-Double
pros
2 kids under control
4 yr old can sit in when tired but also walk
Cons
More work to push around and get onto trains/trams
Stoller- For DS#2
Pros
Light and easy, especially for public transport
Easy on pregnant mummy
Cons
DS#1 would have to walk-all the time.
Doing lots of walking, DS#1 may get tired and sick of walking.

Are you only going to be walking around the city? to be honest if you like walking and the weather isnt too bad then i think you will find walking easier than tramming it, particulary when the trams are full you might find it easier to walk that little bit extra. BUT if its not busy the trams are great :) There is no way i would walk around the city with a 4 yo :) thats JMO its too hard and too busy and well i know that when ds was 4 he used to want to stop at everything so the pram was the best option for us :)
The city is pretty easily accessible on foot if you like walking
