Cold & Flu while Breastfeeding

Just checking if I can take Cold and Flu tablets (Codral) while breastfeeding?? I rang the women's and childrens drug hotline but they aren't open on weekends!!

Anyone know?

hi i was advised when i was breastfeeding not to take them just to take panadol or even panadeine if real bad, although doc did say that its most important that mum is well first so said if really bad it is my choice if i want to take them i didnt.

You can't take anything with pseudoephedrine in it. This includes most cold and flu preparations.

Hi Trix. My theory is that if I couldn't take it while pregnant, I shouldn't take it while breastfeeding. Hope that helps!

About the only thing you can take whilst BF is panadol :rolleyes:
