Heinz baby food recalled

Heinz have recalled some food products after finding moth larvae in one of the jars:barf:

All so beacuse of zucchini seed.

But the moth larvae :barf:.

It makes me rethink using any jar food at all for bubs. You just don't know what is in it.

What disgusted me also is the woman who found this larve in her son's food called the Hotline, only to be told by the person on the other end to "strain around it" and continue using the food for her son! :barf:

this is why i make my own food.. i shoud show this to my dd nana who thinks bought pre-made stuff is better!

Well, wouldn't you know it - i bought my 12month old his FIRST ever jar of heinz last week. LOL Thankfully the one I got wasn't on the recall list, but i am surprised, with my usual luck.

!! The product warning at the supermarket said something about the size of the zuccini seeds, nothing about the moth larvee. Notice how the heinz website only mentions it at the bottom of the page! It may not be a health risk (??) but its still gross and not what we paid for.

ANother reason why I will be making my own food. I hate the processed stuff. They have like 10 flavours in one. I had pick the baby food game at my shower and couldnt pick any of them. This is bad enough but then to hear about seeds and larve. Yuck. People put their faith in consumers and look what happens. I suppose its just like "baby yoghurt" rubbish. How can we buy anything and trust it. I wont thats for sure. Only if I am desperate will I buy jar food for my son.
