I am looking at buying a jolly jumper on ebay. The doorways on my unit dont have the wooden skirting or whatever it is called. They are flush concrete. Would a jolly jumper clamp work or do you think i have to buy one with the stand? We are moving into a house that has the wooden frames but that is not for another 2 months. He is at a good stage to use it now and i want him to get use out of it. ??????
:smiliedance:I am looking forward to seeing DS jump jump jump :)

I didn't have doorways to hang a jolly jumper on either and when i looked at one of the frames set up i thought it was huge. Instead i got my DD a Fisher Price Jumperoo instead, check them out on the fisher price website. I found this to be great as along with the jumping fun there are also toys to play with and light and sounds too.
Anyways just another idea for you to consider.

hey ..:)

unless you have the edge around your door .. the jolly jumper clamp wont work  and I agree the frames are chunky

I didn't want the stand either .. but I just got my dad to put a hook on a beam in our loungeroom .. its only temporary .. but we dont even really see it hook anymore .. and it means that I can just loop the JJ over the hook .. when in use .. and completely remove it when Alex isn't jumping .. (we just made sure that the hook was tolerant to the weight we expected it to take .. seriously .. this one is strong enough that I could swing off it ..)

Both my boys have adored the JJ .. and used it daily .. sometimes more than once a day :D

JJ look great and might be fun for little kids but Im sure Ive read somewhere that they, along with baby walkers could delay a child from walking on time. Not sure where i read it but just a thought. Something to do with the tippy toes or something:confused:

Jolly Jumpers are fine to use, as long as it's not for hours each day.

Our Jolly Jumper came with the door clamp, but our door frames were too wide and yes, it definitely needs wooden edges for the clamp to sit on top of. We purchased the frame and loved it. Josh jumped and jumped for months in that thing. A friend suggested that when he outgrows it we can use it as a big cubby/play house ... we won't do that until he realises that moving it around the lounge room is not a good idea :)

i would say i wouldnt use one again as i had mine in the beam but one day when son was about 6 months old it came out of wall and head bubs on the head so if anything i would prefer the stand after that happening scary

We bought a stand and yes it is a bulky, it's worth it. My DH would not put a hook in the ceiling .... with the stand I can move it to the room I want it in - so worked well for us.

I"ve heard that too .. but as long as they aren't overused .. my DS1 walked at 10 months .. and he used his everyday .. but not for too long ..
