I know there are talks of the payment being swiped, but, is the one for this year happening?
Ie.. would it be from June 2009 it would be gone?
I am trying to look at finances and see what I have and DON'T have.. LOL

That is a really good question. Do u mean the one that got bought in last year($1000) 2 be a yearly thing, or the $600 for carer allowance recievers & $1000ish for carer payment recievers that has been going for a while? I think it will be announced in the budget shortly?

I tried calling FAO and they take forever. Ill call now and let everyone know.

We DO still get the $600 payment as per usual.
The one off was the one paid in October.

The $1000 bonus one is GONE. They said the govt' stipulated it was a one off. (2007-2008 FY)
We only get the one at tax time of $600 (carer allowance supplement) and $1000 for carer payment supplement.

well I know they said it would be a yearly thing, but I guess they changed their minds :rolleyes: this is why I didnt vote for Krudd. at least they havent cut the others(yet)

I am trying to be positive about getting the $600, but it's hard.
The don't get that the system for services is absolutely laughable and we are paying for a lot of these things out of pocket. Maybe increasing the payment f/n is a better option, so we have it when we NEED it.

no the $1000 is for mums/dads caring for kids the paymet in not thu centrelink so we get that every year.but i think the $600 bonus for carers will continue,i reckon they should cut out the baby bonus.give more to people caring for special needs kids.

Sorry girls, but you have nnow got me thinking and I know this is gonna sound dumb, but I get the carers allowance... I didn't start it till nov last year so no bonus last year. So does that mean I get $600 bonus this year? Would be helpful to pay dr's bills...

I would say yes. You had it from Nov 07 til June 08, so you should.

The $1000 we got in october was brought in for 5 years and we should get it in July but the $600 if we get it is given in the budget .Kevin Rudd did back down on not giving the $1000 bonus for people getting the carers payment so we will have to wait and see if we get the $600 bonus in budget for th caers allowance as that was relly stated .

Hi everyone, just thought I would let u know, the $1000 new 1 that was bought in last year october will be a yearly thing. The $600 bonus 4 carers allowance, $1000 4 carer payment thats paid through c link will be paid this year but will then be reviewed & may not be continued. This was the one that was meant 2 be a one off payment. Hope that helps. So this year anyone entitled will recieve both the $1000(paid in July) & either the $600/$1000(paid in June) depending on ur carer payment then it may change 2 only the $1000 next year.:)

I get the allowence i think, the one thats NOT means tested. Will we get anything?

if u get the allowance($100 a ftnt I think) U will be entitled 2 the $600 bonus thru c link as well as the $1000 bonus that was bought in last year. Here is a number 2 call they should be able 2 tell u. 1800 101 888

If ur on the carer payment u get $1000 instead of $600 Im pretty sure(it could be $1200 I dont know) plus the other $1000 bonus.

I called the number I listed & was told the october one is NOT gone it will be paid yearly in July. Centrelink(if thats who u called), they have no idea.I did not call centrelink, its a specific disability number:) she actually said they have been having this prob with centrelink a bit lately & said she will have 2 inform them of their mistake. As I said, the $600/$1000 bonus from centrelink will be paid this year but then may not be paid again. Hope that helps:thumbsup:
