Hey gals,
I was just brushing DD1's hair and found a patch of what looks like cradle cap? She had it pretty bad when she was a bub, but i haven't seen it since. Can toddlers get it?
It comes off when brushed or picked (which i did :o ), and the hair comes out with it....How would i treat a toddlers hair, since oil or similar is not really nice in a full curly head of hair?
Any tips?
maybe its a bad case of dandruff, try using anti dandruff shampoo

Its not dandruff as its big thick crusts of yellowy stuff, just like on baby...but thanks anyhow!
Hey Shazbutt. My DD has this problem too and a head full of curls as well. Sorry cant help you there. But I would love to steal your advice if you get some!:D
I was rushed for time before, but just to add, my DS whos 8 and DS whos 4 used to get the crusty bits and stuff a lot, so for the past year I have been using head and shoulders shampoo on them, and its pretty much gone.
before I started using it though, I put heaps of sorblene cream in them, left it for about an hour, added more, left it about another hour and washed it off with warm water (no need to shampoo, cause its a soap subsitiute and doesnt leave the hair oily), then combed their hair. Repeted it the next day, then from then after used the anti dandruff shampoo.
Also I found that the J&J shampoo made it worse.

Cool, i might try the sorbolene, then the head & shoulders....sounds better than the oil alternative.....thanks for that! :)

Just yesterday, my DS came up with HUGE amounts of flaky scalp which also looked like cradle cap. He had cradle cap when he was a bub and when his hair grew longer, I thought it had all gone....but no...
I put him in the bath and washed his hair and combed his hair - front to back. back to front, side to side etc. Good thing he's patient !!:o
Most of it came out and whwn his hair dried I brushed it through. Tonight I washed it again and the majority of it is all gone.
Still not sure why it all flaked off yesterday though ?
