we have df's grandfather's 90th birthday coming up and we(as well as everyone else in the family!!) are totally stumped for ideas. We are open to any price range really as we may all end up putting in for something. Or if we get him something just from us we want it to be special - 90 is a pretty big achievement I think!

A photo collage is nice, you can make it or get it made. Just make sure you make copies of the originals, never cut originals!
Or a DVD of lots of home movies.

I agree we did this for my pops 70th and he loved it. You could make a massive one for a whole wall if you wanted!

What about getting a framed print of the front page of your town's newspaper on the day your relative was born. I know you can order this from the Courier Mail in Brisbane so I am sure that other major newspapers would do the same sort of service.

HTH ;)

My 90 yr old grannie in law says 'if I can't eat it, read it, or put it on my face, I don't want it!'

Basically she is over all the 'stuff' of life.

Something like family photos or the newspaper would be nice.

Maybe a book of vouchers that he can call on the family to use. Like 'a days house cleaning' or 'lawns mowed' that kind of thing.

Thank you all for your input......MIL just called me and we are all going to put in for a helicopter flight for him......the last thing I would have thought of, LOL, but apparently he will love it!

I was going to suggest a voucher of some sort for him-I probably wouldn't have said helicopter flight though!

We gave my 89yo and 91 yo grandparents vouchers for their shopping centre last year. They moved into a village and went from comfortable to tight financially and one of the highlights if their week is a visit to the shopping centre so we thought it fitting that we could pay for some of those cups of tea etc...

All the best for the birthday! :goodvibes:

We are getting Dh's Nanna for her 80th an electronic photo frame with family photos in it. We thought it might limit the space she had for photos as she hasnt put any up in years due to lack of space
