Conceiving After Implanon

Hi,

I'm not very clued up on ovulation, cycles etc and therefore am in need of some help!

I had the contraceptive implant in for around 19 months and have recently had it removed. I was wondering if someone could tell me do you have to have a period after having the implanon removed before you can concieve?

I had unprotected sex around six days after having it removed but had not yet had a period and I am trying to find out the possibility and likeliness of me becoming pregnant.

I've looked at countless forums but just could not find an answer so I thought I would post a thread myself in hope of finally finding one!

I would really appreciate any replies.

Pretty sure you don't need to have a period to be ovulating (just like ladies who fall pregnant when they've never had their first period)

I had my implanon removed, got a period within a couple of weeks and didn't have another again for a couple of years (or at least till DD was one:D)

I fell pregnant within six weeks of implanon removal, but had had irregular periods since my DS was 16months - got the implanon removed when he was about 17months and fell pregnant when he was about 18months.

You concieve when you ovulate. So yes you could get pregnant before you have a period.

Took me 18 months after my implant was removed to concieve. Wait for four weeks then you can test yourself with a pregnancy test from the chemist.

Hi there

I conceived DD about 2 weeks after having implanon out. So I didnt have a period either. You are instantly fertile after having it out (I got told it would take some time for fertility to be restored and have a beautiful nearly two year old because of that advice :laughing:).

I had my first implanon removed after 18months back in early January and am still waiting for our BFP...

It took about 39days for my cycle to return back to their 28 day "normal".

For the last three days i've been having mild cramps in my stomache but really low in the middle, its like a kind of pulling feeling or almost a burning feeling. I don't usually get cramps before a period so I've never felt like this before. I've been getting a nauseus feeling in the evening but not actually being sick and last night had kind of sharp pains in my boobs. I'm also going to the toilet ALL the time! Although most of the time I feel like I'm really bursting and then when I go to the toilet it's hardly anything. This is all strange because today would only be 9 days after conception is it too early to be experiencing this? Do you think my body's just playing tricks on me?

I need advice! :confused:
