I'm 30 weeks today - and after telling my OB today about rapid heart beats I have been having, shortness of breath and a sort of "odd" feeling - not like I'm going to faint, just need to sit down and stop doing whatever it is for a moment - he has referred me to a cardiologist.

I've made my appointment with the specialist and I have to have an ultrasound of my heart the week before.

Anyone else had the same type of thing happen? What was the outcome?

I've never had high blood pressure until 2 weeks ago and then today it was high again.

I had my GD test 2 weeks ago with a full set of bloods and urine test - all was perfect.

Thanks.

I had this but in the first trimester with both my boys, I had all test and it came back as nothing abnormal. Hopefully this is the case for you.

I got this type of thing but was just admitting into hospital for a day for monitoring..had to wear a heart rate monitor, and the baby heart rate monitor belt too....

All came back normal though...wasnt referred to a cardiologist, so I'm hoping all is ok with you..

Good luck

have very similar symptoms, told the OB but they just brush it off. I do suffer from high BP- and am on meds atm for it. My gp did do an ECG though for the rapid heart beat- but that came back normal- so I don't know.... so far still batteling with it.

Good luck

At 30 weeks i was admitted to hospital with palpitations over 250+ bpm they were really bad.I was referred to a cardiologist and it came back that i had WPW-Wolff Parkinson White syndrome.

I had a heart operation, but i still have the heart conditon and am batteling with it at 13 weeks in this pregnancy.I have been referred early to the hospital they have my history and managed it there so they will keep a good eye on it.

It could be anything hun,:fingerscrossed: its nothing serious

while i was pregnant with my first son my dr discovered something wrong with my heart beat and referred me onto a cardiologist. the first one i saw was not very good, he explained that normal heart valves are like 3 leaves which open and close to regulate blood flow. one of my valves only had 2 leaves and there was a chance of bacteria pooling in my heart. sounds not so good, but honestly all i had to do was have a drip with penicillan while i was in labor and take some penicillin tablets after birth. 2 nd baby was same hospy so they jsut did same as before. 3rd baby was different hospy and 12 years since previous ultrasound and cardiologist visit. they referred me to another and this one was much better. still pretty much the same story but instead of me having two leaves i had the 3 but 2 had fused together. usually when they do this they thicken and don' work as well as they should. but mine seemed to be doing pretty good. he did ask for me to come back yearly for check up on it though.

it could be many things, a lot of which are nothing to really worry about. stay calm, see cardiologist and take it from there. good luck
