building resilience

I would like to do some reading around building resilience in children (preschool age in particular), looking at skills that children need to develop to build resilience, language that I can use with my children to foster this resilience etc etc.
Do you have any suggestions about books, websites, articles, philosophies etc that might be useful me for?

What do you mean by resilience? What I think of from your post is building their sense of self and self confidence, which leads to them being more adaptive to certain situations and also able to stand up for themselves. Is that what you mean, or can you give some examples?
