I am keen to start using our flats when we are at home but am really struggling with folding.

Poor Ava looks like she is doing the splits or they fall off the way I have been doing it :p

My DD is about 8kgs.

Which fold do you think is the best?

I have attached a link with quite a few different folds, what do you find works the best?

Origami, all the way.

We used it from newborn till TT with both daughters, an using it again for DS now.

I used origami until recently as hamish seems too big for them. Creates a plumbers crack ( no offence to plumbers). Now that I have 'a range' of fitted's and AIO I only need to make rectangles and pop them in.:D

The Jo Fold is fantastic...

I usually use a kite fold which works fine. I like the Jo fold as well. :)

I really struggled with folds when I switched to cloth. DS has super chubby legs and after using disposables all of the cloth folds appear to gape around his legs. We use the Jo fold and I haven't looked back. It's super easy to fold and a sinch to put on (with a snappy ). Also fits well under pilchers. I found the directions to be really confusing for the Jo fold so I used to avoid it - but when I sat down and took some time to work it out I couldn't believe how easy it was.

Good luck finding the one that's right for you and bubs.

We use the Jo fold, I tried a few folds and found that is the best for my 14 month old bub

I think I'm in the minority... I always use the parallel fold with no problems. The Joy one looks SO CONFUSING! But since you've all recommended it, I think I'll give it a try.

I use the Jo fold on MJ if its a terry flat & pilchers, OR a pad fold. MJ wasnt comfy in the origami :(

I found the variation of the cone one the best to use when the 'origami' fold got too small to use.

To make a variation of the cone fold fold as per direction all corners into the middle to create a smaller square then fold one side into the middle then the other side then fan out the top part of the nappy. Fits perfectly and quite sim fitting too!

I've been using terry flat clothies with DD, when we are at home for 8 mths now and as she has grown I've switched folds from triangle, to origami, to jo fold and now we are using the kite. Thanks for the link Kirsty, there's a few new folds there for me to try!!
