View Full Version : Peach Recipes PLEASE?
i have 3 very ripe peaches that i would like to use so i need a scrummy recipe...
however, it cant contain sugars, flavours or colours....
the only thing i can think of i pie, using cream instead of butter and sugar in the pastry.... but we have that quite alot, given our restrictions...
anyone else have any idea's? please?
if it helps, it doesn't have to be a dessert. we are having chicken for dinner, so some kind of peachy chicken would be ok if anyone can think of a recipe?
PPPPPPPLLLEEEEEAAAAASSSSSSSSE?????? :hugs:

Does it have to be dessert?
You could blend them up with some pureed apple and a tablespoon of maple syrup and make fruit leather for a snack.
nope - it doesn't have to be dessert...
those fruit leather straps sound nice but i cant use maple syrup....
Making this up as I go.....
-Can you have natural yoghurt? If so maybe blend up the natural yoghurt and peaches (little honey if allowed). put mixture into little cups. Pour a little cream on top and put in the freezer until cream sets on top.
-puree the peaches - stuff into centre of chicken (is it chicken breast?) Then crumb - eggs/flour/bread crumbs and bake????

Doesn't matter about the maple syrup, that's just what I use.
You can flavour them with whatever you like. Brown sugar, vanilla, golden syrup, anything you would normally use to sweeten.
Cover a baking tray with baking paper and a quick spray of non-stick spray and spread the fruit puree out to a couple of mils thick. Then bake VERY low (like 70 degrees) for two to three hours or until the fruit doesn't feel too sticky anymore.
I use cookie cutters to cut them into shapes and call them lollies! DS not old enough to worry about yet, but it has my 5 year old nephew fooled! He loves my "lollies!"
Take 2 sheets of puff pastry. Cut 1 sheet into quarters. cut 1cm strips off the other sheet and lay around the outsides of the squares. Prick centres of the squares all over with a fork.
Mix a cup of almond meal, or other crushed nuts, with a little beaten egg and melted butter, (I would add brown sugar, but you can put your sugar sub or honey, or leave it plain) put a layer of mix in the middle of your pastry squares.
Halve, stone, and slice peaches. Lay slices of peach neatly on top of pastry. (sprinkle with sugar or a drizzle of honey) brush pastry with egg and cook in a hot (220c) oven until golden brown.
OR
chop a peach , an onion. Mix with salt and pepper. add some fresh chopped parsley, and fresh or dried sage.
stuff into chicken and roast as usual.
OR
Peach salsa.
chopped peach with onion, salt, chilli, fresh coriander and lime juice. serve with pan fried chicken.
