My six month old is a stealth baby. His day sleeps have not been good for quite some time but the difference is when he wakes from a sleep cycle (around the 30 min mark) he does not cry or even whimper. My question is..would you use the same techniques to re settle a quiet baby back to sleep as you would one that cries? I have spent up to half and hour in one go patting him back to sleep and during this time he does not make a sound. I have all the "how to sleep" books but I cannot find a reference as to how to resettle a baby that doesn't make a sound. He has a dummy and a blankie however I don't know if these are a cause as he sleeps much better during the night with these same "props". Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanx.
