Drivers licence - just take your certificate in.

Most of the other ones you can just ring up - it's mostly a "courtesy" thing, rather than a legal thing. According to my Priest anyway.

You can put your new name on the bubs certificate. Just make sure you put your maiden name and you'll be fine. :)

i don't know how relevant it would be Musicalmummy, but when i wanted to change my name after getting married in 2002, i just got a lot of certified copies from a JP. Most places were happy with that. Take the original one with u, just in case. Usually the postmaster at your local post office is a JP, but u should be able to find one easily.

I was pregnant when i got marrried and wanted to do the whole name change thing asap as well.

I took my marriage cert. (original copy) into medicare first and then they give you a temporary slip , then you go to Hospital front desk type thing and show them your temporary medicare slip - and bobs your uncle !
Then I changed it with everybody else.

Hope this helps.
I didnt do any JP signed copies.

Wishing you all the best with everything musicalmummy ;) :)

OK I did all of this about a year ago... IF you have teh cert from births, deaths and marriages then take that to medicare. They will issue you a little piece of paper until your card comes. They are also affiliated with FAO so they will change it on your centrelink aswell. Then take the little slip to the hospital and they will change it over. That way you will be under your married name when it is time to give birth.

Then go and get your license changed and your keycard.

Good luck on the birth of your new bubba... And congrats on being a MRS

No medicare and FAO are together.... :smiliedance: Just ring all ya other companies... I still have so many things in my maiden name...

I dont know how good ya credit rating is either but I know as soon as I got married. Icould go and buy things that I could not normally get on credit.. (my ex stuffed up my credit rating);)
