When making kids birthday cakes to share with friends, classmates, daycare or school, I find it easiest to make individual cakes in ice cream cones.
Instead of using paper patty pans I pour the mixture into flat bottomed ice cream cones and bake as normal. (I stand each cone in a hole in a muffin tray.)
This saves stress with children arguing about portion sizes, parents, teachers, carers having to find a knife, cutting and cleaning up.
They work a treat, the kids eat the cones and you don’t have to pick up the messy paper pans left over.
;) No the cones don’t burn in the oven!

Wow. Great idea. They are super-cute! The cones really don't burn? I am guessing the cupcakes would cook for about 20 mins to 30 mins?

How far up do you pour the batter in the cones? Like right to the top edge, or a bit below, or what?
Thanks for such a fantastic idea :yelclap:

I just cook them the same time as you would cook cupcakes about 20 to 25 minutes
