I bought one of those new continental cous cous things and made it and DS loved it, so now I am thinking of starting to work cous cous into our diet, so can anyone give me some recipe ideas?

Oh cous cous is one of the easiest things to cook! Pretty much cooks itself. Just buy the plain stuff (much cheaper and healthier) and you can pretty much add whatever you like to it.

We use it at in place of rice....with stirfries, curries, etc.

I dont know if this is weird but I LOVE cous cous with some blended avocado, grated cheese and sweet chilli sauce mixed through...delish:thumbsup: Kids love it too.

Ohh they're yummy aren't they? We're only new cous cous users too, so I'll be watching this thread.

I love it too with some some vege stock, finely chopped shallots or red onion, finely chopped capsicum, sweet corn kernals, and mushrooms.

Yum...now I feel like cous cous for lunch.:)

I do crumbed chicken pieces (breast or thigh), serve on a bed of plain couscous (or with some fresh herbs thrown through it) and pour a sourcream, curry powder (just a touch), shallot and garlic sauce over the top.

We love Couscous Salad here.

Perfect for BBQ's or any time really.

Cook Couscous.

Chopped Spring Onion, Red & Green Chilli fried up in a little oil, season with Ground Cumin, Ground Coriander and a little Sea Salt & Pepper.

Then combine with cooked couscous and add a punnet of cherry tomatoes halved along with some chopped parsley and mint.

Lastly add a sachet of tomato paste and stir in a little squeezed lemon juice and you are done!

Ive only ever made it once for DH and he enjoyed it! He scoffed it down and said it was 'something different'!I served plain cous cous on plates and topped it off with stir fried cubed vegies mainly pumpkin, capsicum and I think I added mushies too and zucchini. We also added some crumbed chicken (those that you buy in packs) and cut that up and layered it on the top. You can pretty much add anything. I want some now too! So cheap and great to have in the pantry especially if you run out of pasta and want to cook something up really quickly. Im sure my girl would like it too :)
