Im cooking a roast lamb tonight and thought id try those roasting bags!

Has anyone tried them before? Do they work better than just putting the meat in the pan?

Ive got some fresh rosemary that im gonna put with some garlic cloves and stuff it in the lamb..

oooh i so cant wait!

Oooh that sounds so yummy Mel!

I'll be watching this thread because I've never used the oven bags and would like to try them. Apparently you can put the vegies in and they suck up all the yummy flavours & juices?

MMM you're making me hungry

I love using the roasting bags...ever since I first tried them, I've not done a roast any other way.

I love that it saves on the washing up too - no icky trays to soak and scrub later :)

because its sealed in the bag do i have to reduce the amount of cooking time?

Mel did you cook it for the usual time? And did you put the vegies in there with it?

for the usual time 30min per 500g for lamb..i put the lamb in there first, then after it was done, and the vegies were done i put them in the bag and let them soak up the juices!

yummm!

Mmmm that sounds so yummy

My Mum has always used oven bags, she adds garlic and herbs to the meat or stuffing if it chicken and also the veggies. When she has finished with the oven bag she uses the juice for the meat and veggies to make gravy, it's so yummy!
