Just wondering whether anyone uses powdered milk????

I am looking at ways to cut costs down even further, and reduce our use of packaging at the same time....

I was thinking of using milk made on powdered milk for cooking purposes mainly....

Does anyone else do this? Does it give the same result as ordinary milk?

And does anyone use powdered milk for drinking? Does it taste much different?????

TIA

We have just stared using powdered milk as we where going through so many milk cartons :o

We tried it as a way of cutting down on packaging and also the cost as we are a family of seven.

We have two Tupperware jugs we use one made up with the milk and one with cold water so if we run out of the cold milk we always have a jug of cold fresh water to make up the next jug.

We buy the Home Brand Skin Milk Powder (not suitable for children under two) 1.25kg at $7.95. Four cups of water to one cup of the skim milk powder make one litre. I'm sorry can't remember how many jugs we get out of the packet.

We use the milk for cooking and drinking and to be honest we cant tell the difference

I use powdered skim milk for my tea and coffees- works a treat! Was buying cartons of skim for me and finding it was going off before I had time to drink it. So this lasts ages and ages without going off
